www.qadinc.com/ultra-rest.htmanyone have any experience with this rest? my buddy just got one on his mathews sb xt. i absolutely love it. way better than my cobra diamondback or trophy taker shakey hunter. anyone ever have any problems with it? i really like the idea of being able to get the rest in the up/ready to shoot position without having to draw the bow. you can just click it up with your finger and it stays locked and cant fall out till you shoot. you can let down and it still stays up. it was very quiet too.

I dont have any experiance with that particular model. But QAD's in general are known to be very dependable and nicely built.

a tmhunter is only 15 bucks and is just as accurate as any rest on the market.

"a tmhunter is only 15 bucks and is just as accurate as any rest on the market."
It's just that it's a lot more work for me with the hard helical I use, to get adequate rest clearance with vanes. The drop away from a tuning stand point saves me a bunch of time. Probably wouldn't be near as much an issue with feathers. I also really like the containment offered by that little arrow holder and that the arrow stays on the rest without fail witht he wide arms of the shakey hunter.
I think Tom's been taking $60 for the Shakey Hunter and 5 for the RAM arrow holder.
" i dont like how the arrow POPS out of that holder when i draw back." You just got to trim the holder a little so it doesn't sit in there so tight that it pops out on the draw.

what if you draw and let down? NO MORE ARROW CONTAINMENT. not so with the ripcord or qad ultra rest. i love how you can put them in the up/shoot position and contain the arrow, draw and let down and still contain the arrow. ill pay the money for the piece of mind. very comforting, especially for stalking! i believe my nova package came with a tm hunter. on my fifth hunt ever i had three does walk under me and while getting my bow ready i nocked the arrow off and it dropped hitting every step on the ladder stand i was in on the way down. hello whisker biscuit, bye bye tm hunter.

nc, we are all aware that the Lord smiles upon you when you draw on an animal. ;-) I hope He does but believe me, I've screwed up almost every way possible at one time or another. It took me 5 yrs to kill a deer with a bow but I was huntin with a longbow in those days and there weren't near as many deer back then. If I could get black and white pics to work, I'd post some of them oooold stories. ;D
