you are a very honest person George. I commend you on that. you know a lot of hunters would have just put that thing in the freezer and went on about hunting a big buck. i may have to consider a bonus point for that . ind 7 7/8 x2 +4+2= 21 3/4 team 25+7 7/8 +4+2= 38 7/8

I feel bad too....not contributing any points yet. Buckfever is carrying our team so far. Great job by the way. I just haven't been able to get out hunting much due to work and it's really starting to get to me. I have a 4 day weekend this weekend though so all I have to due is make it to friday. I went into work early this past Sunday with the intention of getting in an afternoon hunt but the 60 mph winds we had headed off that hunt. Goodluck Kentucky_Redneck and Buckfever. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something by next Wednesday.

And of course all I have is bucks around me tonight. I had a palmated 7 pointer around me for around 15 minutes, but then got busted by a deer that I didn't see behind me when I was trying to take a picture of him. And then I had a 5 or 6 point fork horn for around 20 minutes browsing on the clippings that I trimmed when cutting shooting lanes. I have to get on the does!!!

Once again I have deer around me and can't get a shot. So frustrating. I'll move to where I saw them feed to and try again tomorrow. 2 days in a row that I've had at least 3 does come by within 50 yards but come down the wrong trail.

Well after 6 years of not killing a thing I finally scored. Saturday morning was opening of gun here in Kentucky. I didnt see a think that morning and was on the same boat saturday afternoon until I thought i was hearing another squirrel. He just sounded too big though. a few min later he cane out at 85 yards and fell a victom to the ol 30-06 rem. One of the eastest ive ever tracked. He fell in his tracks I took the right shoulder and his heart with the exit right behind his left shoulder. Sorry for rambleing on but im excited to kill one this year , being it has been 6 years. lol ;D ;D He is an 8pt with 12 in outside spread. i23.photobucket.com/albums/b395/kentucky_redneck/DSCN2029.jpgi23.photobucket.com/albums/b395/kentucky_redneck/DSCN2026.jpg

You guys have to read my post: NO, NO... I feel like I'm letting you guys down. I should have had 5 more does let alone the three more I can contibute to the team. I swear, I feel like I'm having a patch of bad luck here. And with gun season this weekend it's not going to get any easier. Plus without having a buck tag, I'm having to be extra careful to not make a mistake, so my long range shooting capabilites are pretty much eliminated at low light conditions.
I'll still keep plugging away. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every now and then. Hell I should of gone shotgun, I drew a permit for a park that is overrun with deer. But noooo I didn't want to use my buck tag for the gun season, so I didn't attend the mandatory meeting.
I did apply for late season gun, which is doe only. So if I don't get it done with the bow, I'll do that.

Congrats Kentucky_ Redneck! I've had a few dry spells myself and it does feel good to finally take one down. I let two different 6 pointers walk this past weekend, Had 1 @ 4 yds Saturday morning and the other one @15 yds on Monday morning. Both were just too small. But....there was a real heavy 8 pointer with the 6 point and two doe on monday morning, he finally steps into my shooting lane @ 40 yds.....facing me, but never gave me a shot...too much brush and branches in the way when he finally turned broadside. Man guys, this was a real nice 8 point and i wanted him bad. He had about an 18 - 20 " outside spread, perfectly simetrical with 8" brow tines. Maybe this weekend. Buckfever, If anyone is letting this team down its me, but i'm trying. Congrats again Kentucky....way to go!

Anyways good luck Tailnbone and Buckfever, I'm hopeing to bag a few does now. Go team # 5!!!

Hey guys just to let you know with the gun season this past weekend and with the Thanksgiving weekend upcoming my hunting opportunities are really limited for the next couple of weeks. I did however start scouting a late season property and found 3 good setups and I have been practising my shooting from an elevated position on a 3-d target to stay sharp. So I'm laying low now but hope to get back to it real hard in a couple.
