Here's the deal. ;D You have 3 days to scout and one day to deer hunt in November, anyplace you want to hunt whitetails. Where would you hunt and what day in November would you pick? I'll start by choosing public land in Cass County, Illinois on Nov 17th. I choose the place because I already know it and the date because it's been good to me in the past.

www.kentcounty.com/gov/parkrec/parks/sassaf.htmnovember 19th, bow the # of deer ive seen at this place is just amazing. there has to be some true monsters there. last year i found scrapes out the azz. one was the size of a car roof. the hole place is farmed with soy beans and corn. beautiful scenery also. i really wish i could get you to this place nc and see what you thought. i dont think theres much pressure prior to firearm season.

Nov. 4th , moon transit calls for a full day hunt with the main feed in the middle of the day. I'd be in my stand on turkey foot of at the Doc's, I would think if you only had one day you would want to junt an area you know.

Todd, I'm very interested in checking the place out.
How far is it from where you live? I won't know for sure until this weekend but it may work out that I have to go by or near there around the 15th, give or take a few days.
I'd like to perhaps check it out then.

I spent some time hunting Dillon and almost shot a beautiful 150class there. Had two more near twin 150class bucks staying less than 200yds from my tent. Saw them repeatedly. They stayed in the back campground that was closed for the winter. The ranger watched them all the time too. Lot of lot of pressure at Dillon. People in the woods every single day. Most of the deer I saw there had been spooked and few moved liesurely. My friends went back to Dillon again last fall but the only buck shot was on Tranquility I think it was. They came back complaining of crossbowers walking all over the woods. A really good place is on the tiny pinch of land east of the highway in spite of all the traffic. That's where I could have had the big boy if I'd played my hand differently. Saw the buck bedded from the road riding by. I was so intent on my boy seeing the buck, I managed to spook him from his bed and I had a sure stalk that would have gotten me to within 50yds unseen. Still I'm glad my boy got to see a giant. I think the next morning he slept in and when I came back from hunting he told me about how close he got to the giants in the back campground while walking around. kinda made me want to go bite a tree after the day before.

JP and I were talking about this, Most all of us know places to hunt that have big bicks and it takes a real hunter , decated to the sport to find them. As I said earler, there is no place I would rather hunt than my own back yard.

When I hunted at Dillon last fall,I took the R/R tracks way back, bout 2 miles. Had to leave camp at 3 am,and the walk was a bit spooky, but I never seen another person the whole time. But I guess thats the way most places I hunt that are public. If ya want the best chances you gotta work abit more, and walk further. T.A.

When I hunted there I had friends from here along and my buddy glued himself down those tracks somewhere. He saw a good one back there and I didn't bother him.
