What an excellent read. The way this guy tells the story makes you feel as if you were actually there witnessing all that was said and felt. Once I started reading I couldn't stop until there was no more...........can't wait to read the rest.
Thanks for sharing the link hat.

Yeah nice to agree, were probably more alike then we reallize. Our goals may differ now but our love of the sport and everything that it brings remains the same.
I am not much of a book reader, alot of short stuff and mags but not much on books. They say you have to find a book that just sucks you in, I think after 41 years I just might have found that book.
Who is the guy writting it, this is not his first time. What other stuff has he written ? Deffinently neat to see it all in the making and a great marketing plan by him. Should be making a movie of it.

I gotta admit, i'm not the biggest reader in the world, but this is the best reading i have seen in quite a spell. i got the movie happening in my head as he writes, talented style he has. i put the cut and paste to it and will let my daughter read it. only problem is now... he got me waiting like everyone else.... gonna be hard to take. i'm not sure about anyone else but the guys writings make me feel like i know him somehow? ?

I think the reason it feels like you know him is because in many ways the apprentice of Tuck is everyone of us as we become seasoned woodsman. I hadn't put my finger on it, but you sure nailed it! I identify with the young man in the story.

maybe it is that , the young man that i am basically feeling... somehow or another through the words of the author i feel like i know who this is or have met him before... i dont know , just seems wierd. i guess it is because i have heard some of the phrases he is using before . i have passed this link on to a few other forums including HF, its just too good not to.

Todd, if you ever get chance to spend a day in the field with Hat, I guarantee you'll learn things you never thought about before. Besides a total understanding of the birds, he's one of the best on a turkey call I've ever heard.
