if pope and young accepts his scoring, and why wouldnt they, it will be a new non-typical record. no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
am i missing something?

I need a class in reading comprehension. I was mistakenly thinking it would be a state record non-typical. You are talking P&Y state record non-typical.

The best typical white-tailed deer taken with archery equipment came from Talbot County and measured 183 3/8. Petey Councell bagged it on November 11, 1994. Yates Clagett took the best non-typical white-tailed deer with archery equipment in Prince George’s County. It measured 220 2/8 and was harvested on November 5, 1995. obviously yates clagett did not submit his 220 2/8 buck to p&y ......hmmm does that mean he has the record then? my guess is the real records are in peoples dens and never have even been scored before. if i was yates i would have oh i forgot, i still dont see that much horn there myself.not 196 and change after deductions. man i gotta start shooting these deer i'm letting walk

taken from other site:
Guest the Clagget buck was not accepted by P&Y and never will be because it was very much alive the next day and killed with a gun.
It was laying along side the driveway when the father went to get his newspaper he jumped it and it ran off . This was the next day not a good sign it was mortally wounded by the arrow. That would be no different then shooting a buck one night and driving out the next day to look for it but on the way it runs in front of your truck and you run it over . If you wing one with an arrow through the ear then shoot it the next day with a gun are you still going to call it a bowkill???
How can anyone say something like that is still a bowkill? It was still alive the next day and don’t know if it would have ever died from the arrow...

I'd agree with you there.
I think there's a record 'pistol kill' on a moose that was done something like this though. As I remember, it was followed up and finished off w/ a rifle. There was a big stink. I'll have to dig the story up.

Looks to me like a 14pointer and as such would score very well.

I agree on the REAL top racks are most likely hanging on someone's barn.I've seen some incredible ones.Lots of folks just don't care about the numbers. There's been some real nice deer taken around the Baden area over the years, not just Yate's deer.I have (duck) hunted the adjoining farm, and there's some monsters in the area.I sometimes buy hay from someone a few miles away, and he's got some unreal racks in the barn. It's not just in that area, either. Most folks, especially farmers/older guys, just aren't that taken with the whole "scoring" thing.A nice rack is a nice rack.Period.And,I ain't just talking about deer!

I knew the next big one would come from Dorchester, or one of the other lower eastern shore counties.... I found one dead on one of the properties I hunt while shed hunting, scores in the mid 200's nt... Hopefully he spread his genes around good before he died...

now that is something else there... my guess is he spread em for ya. super find, now just to find one of his younguns. i agree the eastern shore is where its at right now on the east coast. just think how big they could get if MD would limit the buck tags to say 1 or 2 a year instead of 6.

Wouldn't that be something! I even wish they would have one buck with a bow, one with a gun, and one with a BP. That in itself would help!

We've seen some good ones on the property, none this caliber but there are some monsters scattered about the shore, although Kent county gets all the press. I keep hearing Worcester is a great sleeper spot for sikas, might have to give it a try one day....
