A few years ago I was lead to the AFRICA stand where this huge sow and a half dozen others came in to cool off. Troublesome feral hogs for the farmers who we used to lease from were game year round. This one broke a 400 lb. scale with no problem. Meat galore for "hat" and my family. 160 grain ballastic tip 30-06 took him to "hog heaven" in less than two steps, plus it went to the middle of the mud pool. Quite an ordeal to get him out, even with a four wheeler. Have killed a good number of wild "Russians"since then too. Mostly large boars and to -------stinking to consider consumption.scdave

they are the most unhandy critters I've ever tried to get out of the woods. They simply have no handles. I killed a lot of them in northern Arkansas with a .22 and of course many of them ran down into steep hollows. I didn't have an atv then so I cut em up where they fell and carted the pieces back up in burlap bags on my back. Some of the hardest work I've ever done.
