Well I shot the Blazers today, not extensively but enough to start forming some impression regarding them. The flight with both broadheads and field points is quite good. Comparing the SlickTrick with the field points they were right there together. However comparing the SlickTrick and the Montec the Montec shot 1" low and 1" to the right. When I put the Montec on a Duravane fletched arrow with a hard helical, that brought the Montec right with the Slick Trick and the Blazers, cutting the Blazers. When I compared the Field points with the Blazers and the Duravanes, the Blazers were higher and to the left. My initial impression is that the Duravanes with a hard helical provide a little more control than the Blazers. The Blazers appear to be a little faster and are quieter. My very preliminary impression is that for a lower profile fixed head, like a SlickTrick, a Crossfire or a Sonic, or for use with mechanicals the Blazers have an advantage over the Duravanes. If I was shooting a Whisker biscuit, I would definitely prefer the Blazers as they are a stouter vane. If you're looking for more control a Duravane with a hard helical is probably a little better. I hope this helps and maybe others who have compared can chyme in. I would be cautious in giving these initial results too much weight.
Oh one other thing, I'm pushing a 398 grain arrow 282 ft/sec. That's a pretty hot setup and the amount of control needed will be on the high side.
