I made one some time back but I didn't like my setup and took it apart.
Since I have so many bows to work on these days I think I'm going to build another one. I built the old one much too heavy duty and I used an old boat trailer rachet for the pull. This time I think I'm just going to use a ratchet strap and build it a little lighter. Won't be so bulky to move around as I don't yet have a place to set up permanently.
Any of you guys have a bow press?

Neat. I've got a little portable cable press for emergencys but I'm going to build a full press to use here, hopefully for free out of materials already on hand. ;D

Buckfever on that bow press you have with the ratchet strap I know that it will ratchet it up with out a problem, but wont it just snap back when you release it. When i used one on my 4 wheeler it would pop out fast when i would release it. Seems like it would be bad on your bow. I'm not downing the set up just courious about that. Thanks

the better ratchet straps can be let down a tooth at a time.... if you're careful. ;D

Yeah like bowman said they are released one notch at a time. You'd have to release the both the notch and the safety at the same time for it to fly free. Not a concern with this design.
