So frustated 2 days ago I talk to a buddy of mine, who tells me he's not surprized at all that I'm still shooting better with the Outback. He said yeah the skinny arrows might be a bit more critical and it takes a while to get the feel of a new bow. So I think on this some and realize he's absolutely right. The way I've always done it is to tune the bow up and then get to shooting groups, till I figure out what the bow likes and then I burn the form in. I guess I had just expected that I could pick the XT up and it would happen. Well it don't work that way. So I put the Outback in the case, took the hunting arrows for the Outback and packed them all away in the closet. I took a Gold Tip that I knew was sound and retuned the XT. And I started shooting groups. The first thing I did was to pay attention to what the bow did at the shot. So for that I just slowly squeezed and payed attention. I played around with the stab and the different weighted dampeners, till she was perfect at the shot. Then I got down to shooting groups and focusing on how the bow liked to be held to steady her up. Tonight I stopped with this group as there was no point, I would just destroy the arrows. Now this is only 13.5 yards but I absolutely felt that I could slap arrows together all night. As I was shooting this last group, I thought WOW what a bow!!! That's a nice feeling, having finally seen the potential of this bow.
