This was posted on another site by an MBS officer, and I thought I should post it here.
MBS Central Chapter is pleased to host the 2006 spring Quarterly meeting on 30th of April at the Poolesville IWLA. This will be an all day event for the whole family. Gates will open at 0930.
Here are just a few of the things that the shoot will have:
First off this is the Central Chapter so you know our first priority is eating good. So bring your favorite cuts of meat and Grill Man Dave will treat them right!
Now while your food is being grilled to perfection, Grab your blankets and empty out those old boxes of archery stuff. That's right, while the MBS officers are having their meeting you all get first dibs on the blanket sales.
3d Course ($) with awards given out for the highest chapter score, highest compound men's individual score, highest compound women score, same for recurve and long bow, Youngest (Most Potential) and oldest (“Wisest shooter”) We will be giving out the first ever plaque award for the best chapter score. Something simple but has room for the four meetings winners.
This is the spring quarterly meeting and hopefully we will be taking the award home, until the next meeting. (Summer) So at the end of the year the award could be given to what ever chapter did the best for 2006. I’m thinking a piece of wood with some/a broadheads or a Robin Hood arrow on wood. With a couple of words like “2006 Most Deadly Chapter in the Maryland Bowhunter’s Society”
Ariel shots. Bring your Flu flu. Like Denton hill, everyone that fits on the firing range, can shoot at the same time. Depending on our sectors of fire is how many shooters can play at once. You must have flu flu to play. I have a few to share with others.
Helium Balloon Shoot For the kids, first, then we get to play! Every kid will be a winner, of something, an award or certificate of some kind.
Rabbit shot (rolling tire with target inside) same as abov! e, as many shooters as possible, shoot at once. I suggest you bring your blunt tips for this one!
Accuracy shot ($) A sure to challenge every shooter "Threading the needle" Award will be given to the champion. Shooting through a hollow log with an opening of just bigger than a golf ball. This will be placed at 15 yards and try to hit the clay pigeon behind it. Every one that hits the target will step back further away until we are left with the best shooter. Every shooter pays $1 a shot. The winner gets half the money raised by this event.
Long Range Shooter($) The closest arrow to a 1" sticker takes home the "Sniper Award" Every shooter pays $5 for three chances. The winner gets half the money raised by this event.
And more like the:
Canoe shot ($) Not going to tell all the secrets but I will say you will have to shoot a bowfishing arrow out of the boat for this one,
The belly shot test your luck lying down.
The arrow killer shot, no need to charge money for this one. It's already very expensive!
And others
