The outdoor range doesn't open for another 3 weeks. I am sooooo fricken bored!!! Messed up Goldtips in the middle, ACCs on the outside for decoration.

Nice! even at 13 yards. I'm doing most of my shooting at 30 yds - from the deck to the back fence. I'm not all that happy with my shooting during the last couple of weeks, but I'm trying to get the poundage up, and think that's what's hurting me. I'm always getting one flyer that ruins an otherwise nice 3-4" group - taking it out to about 6" or so. Concentration!

and I get bored at 30yds. What kind of place do you live? Not a vacant lot or sand pits anywhere around? I'd go bonkers.

I live in a subdivision. At Chain O Lakes state park they have a FITA course out to 80 yards and they have an elevated practise range 12.5' up, with stairs, awesome structure, with targets and sand pits from 10yards out to 40.
It just doesn't open til April 1st.
I absolutely know what you mean about 30 yards. On the ground I don't even shoot less than 50 yards once the range is open. Elevated though I still practise all the distances.

Have you ever thought about a recurve for the indoor shooting? ;D

Well, I figure if I can't put the bows away for 2 and a half months out of the year, I have enough of a problem without adding a recurve to fuel the flames.

well, the recurve holds my attention better at close range.

;D Ironic, I just happened upon this on another forum. (For those that don't know, the marks on the bows below are sight distance marks, similar to pins on a compound. The marks below are from 10 to 40 yds.) ------------- This photo shows my Quinn Stallion next to my Partners bow. The marks on the Stallion are just strips of masking tape. You can really see the difference in the speed of the 2 bows. both bows are 64" 55# bows that I shoot the same arrows out of.
-------------------------- Formulas and calculations go out the window with recurves. Even identical bows are seperate individuals once learned. Interesting pic, isn't it? ;D Oh I forgot. His partners bow (the fast one) is a Palmer.

That's a pretty tight site window on that Palmer, for a recurve.

just for kicks I looked at ebay for Palmer bows and found one but it's too short and low poundage. Big price though. web page

Here in Ohio I go to the range every week, $24, a year with your hunting tag, you shoot a nice range up to 50 yds outdoors and 20 targets in the woods.
