went to macrotech today and dropped my bow off so they can get it a little faster. they said 285 fps should be no problem at all. also im switching to the vital bow gear green triangle site. i cant see the red on the one i have now for the 30yrd pin. also ordered 6 acc's while i was there and had all my cx300 redone with feathers and new nocks.

i'd like to give it a shot someday but i wouldnt want to use a blind doing it. i know of a few spots it may be possible. either way it could prove to be very difficult.

Well for 1 the 3-60s will be a little light for hunting IMO. Secondly the spine selection charts have not been updated in years and you need to consider just how much more powerful the bows are today. The additonal spine makes tuning a breeze and provides amazing control of fixed head flight. I think the additional stiffness will make them even more durable. I wonder if nc has additional reasons.

I've never shot an arrow that was too stiff. It's been my experience going stiffer than the charts say is always a good idea. I think there's a reason arrow makers offer so many spines and types of arrows and as with everything else, selling more is always the desire. In the past I've had some heated exchanges in archery shops over this and left some without buying anything. I don't understand shops wanting to sell something that is borderline sufficient when another shaft is sure to do the job. One reason I like dealing with Tom Morava so much, he cares enough to make sure the choice is a good one. 360s may perform fine from Todd's bow but I can't see how a 371 wouldn't perform as well or better.... unless they are trying to squeeze every fps they can get. PS, the 371s shoot quieter than the 360s also.
