Wanted to shoot the force multiplier all day but it was just too windy. Late this evening it backed off but I still had a crosswind. Bear in mind I haven't shot this bow in weeks. First 3 arrows. 40yds (shootin at the center bull) next 3 at 50. not great but at least I was hittin the target.

That's a real good group at 50. Elevation is looking good too.

I shot a 5" group at 40 yards last night with 7 arrows. First group of the night. Man it looked good. Shot another round and it was more like 10 inches. Ghads. Again put up the paper target at 20 yds, and I still can't keep 10 arrows inside a 4" circle, but I could do 9 out of 10. Nothing like a paper record to open up one's groups. Very frustrating. Holding concentration on that many arrows without fail is still not in the cards. Still shooting tight groups with a couple of fliers.

I have a story. ;D One of the greatist hustlers I ever knew helped me out a good bit when I was a teenager. He was an insurance salesman but spent a fair amount of time in the pool room where I almost lived during summers. I got a college education in pool hustling from that man basicly for free, although SD never gave anything away for free without a hook in it. ;D He taught me how to do something I've never seen in print, how to beat a guy that's better at the task than you are. I guess it would be difficult in print because it's a time/experience type education, probably more aligned with psycology(sp ) , or studying the habits and traits of people, and using this to obtain a desire reaction. SD was an expert at it for small change. I only understood years later that he wasn't shooting pool to win money (which he always did), but he was actually selling insurance. ;D I later came to realise he sold insurance to me and everyone I knew. Anyway back to archery, one day I got him to stop by the house and watch me shoot my new bow. He claimed he hadn't shot a bow in 20 years and never a recurve yet he picked my bow up and started shooting bulls at 20yds like magic. I'd been shooting 6+hrs a day for over a week and wasn't even close to that!!! He gave me some pointers that day that changed my shooting life forever. I've found when I venture into something and begin having trouble, if I go back to that day and remember what I learned, I can solve the problem. He suggested I only shoot one arrow and go pull it until I got the up down figured out and not to shoot over three at a time. Of course, at times I've got away from that and shot more but now days I just shoot 3 arrows most of the time. My concentration level isn't high enough for more most of the time. I don't think I'd do very well shooting the numbers of arrows you guys do. I'd probably have a lot of 'fliers'. ;D

i've been out shooting about 5 evenings a week . getting maybe an hour each night. getting the circle down at 40 pretty good. i've been shooting 6 just because i'm lazy . i'm stuck with 1 flier per group , it can come at anytime too, even after hitting the first 5 .

"He suggested I only shoot one arrow and go pull it until I got the up down figured out"
Morava has told me the same damned thing, over and over again, but you know how the saying goes, you can lead a jackass to water but you can't make him drink it. Err was that a horse? Well you get the point.

Interesting story NC.
Shooting 3D is all about your 1-shot method. I'm really enjoying it, and my confidence with range estimation and shooting at unknown ranges is MUCH higher. I'm going to try for a deer from the ground with my bow this year. If you come up to MD for some hunting you can shoot the 35-target hunter's course with me at Izaak Walton. It's a blast.
