I dont know if you can answer this since im in KY. Is it is ok to carry my 9mm as long as is in my holster and can be seen while im fishing? I dont have a ccw permit. I mainly want it for snakes and who know what kind of idiots are out there. Thanks an advance

Bobby, I know the old better safe than sorry thing these days but could create big problems if the dnr guy just chances by to check your fishing license. not worth it imo, call them and ask what the deal is , make sure to get the officers name too and write it down if he says its ok. hey better safe than sorry lol. AFAIK Kentucky does have an open carry law permitting you to carry openly. That being said, you can get into trouble by carrying openly in stores, etc. There are instances of people being charged with disturbing the peace for carrying openly or carrying concealed, but not concealed enough. If you are out on your boat, SHOULDN'T be a problem. As stated before, I'd double check with the local CO and LEO. also check out www.packing.org
