Just want to get a feel for something here. I've been given the responsibility of trapping 10,000 plus acres in the low country next January and February. While I could effectively run most of it I dont think I have the gear or the time to trap it hard enough to really make an impact on the predators. They are over run with bobcat coyotes and greay foxes. Ther is also an abundance of armadillo and possums.
What Im thinking about doing is having a trapping get together ,hosting anyone that wants to come at the lodge and basically speaking try and catch the hell out of some of these predators on our lands.
I would be willing to split the proceeds of the sale of any canines with whomever catches . Ill handle the transport and sale , all you'll have to provide is a legal liscense and liscense number for the fox pen records. Yotes which are overrun down there bring 125-150 a piece , reds bring 100 and greys bring 25 . Bobcats pelt out for around 80 and are abunadant as well. Basically what im saying is a four day run with two dozen traps could easilly produce enough catches to pay for your liscense and the trip .
Any of y'all be interested in putting it together? Im thinking early jan before the breeding season starts and the fox get hard to catch.
