thanks, I gotta say when I first saw him I had a great feeling of relief that he had made it thru from last year. Then I put the binos on him and my right knee started doing the Texas Dave jig. You can just imagine how I went all to pieces 3days later when I saw one even bigger and much closer. I got so knotted up I blew taking a simple pic at perhaps 40yds. I can say for sure the big ones are major league bucks on this section of public land. They get pretty hard pressure from some really good hunters and still survive. The area is wellknown for swirling and changing winds and the bigger bucks seem to junket pretty big sections of very rugged land. I've always said, if I can see him once, I can bowkill him. These bucks are so far offering a valid rebuttal. I have become absolutely obsessed with them since the trip. Can't get it off my mind.

Sounds like you need to just show up one more weekend before season ends. Come unannounced...

[/quote] I know exactly what you mean, all i see is that 10 pointer coming down that draw. keeps playing over and over. i keep asking myself if i did the right thing in waiting for a shot or should i have just let one fly. too late now but i still keep wondering . i thought about going back at christmas but the WV trip may not happen and it would cost a couple hundred in gas again. I am haunted by that damn buck

It's funny how that happens. It gets burned into your memory. I've got a memory like that from a hunt in my early days of bow-hunting at my private land spot. The buck's antlers were so huge and heavy that I don't know how he kept his head off the ground. I came unglued and missed a perfect 25 yd shot because I was shaking so bad. That was almost 10 years ago, and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
