I'm getting a hankering to put the bow down and make some noise... & am making plans for some smokepole hunting after Christmas.
I've got a few folk coming down from up north to hunt a local public WMA, and also committed to taking a local guy hunting too, so it's gonna be busy.
Anybody else got any late-season smoke-pole huntin' plans?

I kinda wish.
Every state has some kind of hink to their respective laws and in Md I would have to buy yet another nonres license to hunt during the ML season as I understand it.
Kinda torques me.
I'd love to take my son up there over xmas but it's not good enough to buy him a nonres Ml license and for me to bowhunt on my already paid for paper. The state wants me to buy yet another permit to bowhunt during ML season. It's the state's loss though because we ain't playin that game. We can hunt here in NC with any weapon we choose for free.

dont feel left out residents have to buy the ml permit also. its only 6 bucks for us and 25 for nr. it does keep some folks out of the woods though. i havent run into anyone out yet cept for aro yesterday . he was scouting and i was scout hunting when we ran into each other.. small world . back to the question at hand. i have put down the bow for 2 weeks and plan on "smoking" a few deer with the ole ml. i need a break from the bow and i do love watching the smoke fly. actually i am supposed to be out right now but failed to wake up in time ..again . i'll get out in a few hours and see what happens.
