I've been lurking for awhile. ;D
I believe Ryan is saying the weekend of Oct 29-Nov 1. Of course some people will be there the week before, and some people will stay for the first week of Nov also, but that is the weekend it is supposedly going to be held.
I would say that time frame is near your yearly Ohio trip isn't it?
I'm thinking of going down for that weekend and do some videoing of hunts for some people. I cannot afford two non-res tags. I plan on hunting solo in MD this year. I think I've got a better shot there than in KY.

Welcome Dan . I would love to make it back there to meet up with the KY boys again , i had the best time there. not sure if the funds and time would be available though. with the assateague hunt here and maybe Ohio in Nov, it may be impossible. good people and good times for sure.

Rick, if we tag out in Ohio quick enough, Ky is just down the road and across the river. Money will be a tight issue for me as well. I may take my boy to Md over Xmas vacation so I need to hold some back for that. He wants to go bear hunting down here but I think a better time may be had deer hunting in Md. Bear season timing is always a conflict for me. 1st season is right during the rut and I'm always gone. 2nd season is around Xmas and access is difficult then as the back roads are so torn up by then in that low country, I'm scared of getting stuck way back there. Access can be had by boat but if the wind blows it can get really dangerous as well as a waste of time and money. Twice I've drove all the way to Frying Pan and put the boat over only to be turned back when I hit open water. That Frying Pan looks like a pie ride across it from the boat ramp but I've seen it upside down out there, even turning me back in my 17 footer. I don't even want to think about crossing it in the dark if the wind is up. Very remote and there ain't no help if trouble develops. The Alligator River ain't for amateurs at all.

Hey guys, for some reason I had to reactivate some code. Took me awhile with dial up. Anyways, I have not been on here for awhile and just surfing around. Glad to still see that there is still an interest in a forum hunt whether it be Ohio Md, or KY. I would love to see and share some time with you guys again. I had a ball last time.
NC, that field you hunted across from my house is in Soybeans this year. The day before yeaterday for the first time I was able to go down in the pouring down rain and I just sat in a briar patch with mosquitoes buzzing my head till dark, and I'm glad I did. 7 does and two nice bucks. A 125 class, and a low 140 stepped out. Wish my camera was not broken.

That would be nice to tag the ears. A much easier way to distinguish certain ones. We have been in a drought most of the summer here and now for the last week and a half rain everyday almost all day. Steady rain at that. The mast crop looks good this year. last year we did not have a good acorn crop at all. I think that was apparent in all the sister states.

late spring frost is usually what hurts the acorns. They usually can stand drought fairly well, especially in lower areas. I sure would like to travelnhunt for a couple of months but I can't find anyone to pay the bills while I'm gone.

You should stop by more often Ryan . you should also consider coming by for the md hunt. if sika doesnt interest you there are plenty of whitetail to hunt. i may do a day or two on the island but the bulk of my hunting will be for whitetail. would love to see ya drop by in oct, i do believe it is going to be a fairly large gathering.

I have not ruled out Maryland just yet. I would like to come up there and have a hunt with you guys. You think you all might have room if I brought a friend along to share the ride and hunt? Not sure the dates I can attend just yet. I have not seen the fiscal year calendar this next school year. The reason I have not been on here is my computer always brought up a problem with this website about a activation code failure. I had to shut the entire system down and delete cookies and files in order to reactivate. Took me a little while to figure that out. How does the mast crop look your way. It looks really good here so far. I am really surprised due to the fact we were in drouhgt conditions up until two weeks ago. 8 solid days of rain bounced us back. I checked the white oaks and hickories yesterday and they all look plentiful here. Is Davehawk still making his red-bull margaritas? Man they were good.

Ryan, That is Rick concocksion, I just partook in the festivities.
Once I have NY bear hunt under my belt this Sept , I can let you all know about it. It is on public land and from what I'm hearing the bear are as thick as the deer I have here.
Ryan, The bear trip is my big trip for the year. Unless I can still get out to Stulls place for a hunt.
