I wish I had a photo of this to post, but my camera malfunctioned at the worst possible time. Elk have some nasty habits, like living vertically. My partner shot a 5x5 bull on a 45 degree slope. It ended up hung up in some nasty brush way up on a mtn side. We absolutely didn't want it to move DOWN the mtn, and there was no way that we were going to move it UP the mtn in 1 piece, so, like in golf, you play it where it lies. We skinned & boned it right there. We had it tied to a sagebrush by 1 hind leg and fought like crazy to keep ourselves on the slope. I know for a fact that I can skin & bone one myself in 3 hrs on the flat, but this miserable job took 3 of us 4 hrs to do. When we finished, our legs felt like rubber. As some consolation, a couple days later I got this moose photo. It came out fuzzy because it was well before sun up and I didn't have a tripod. I had to freehand the shot. I'm suprised it came out as clear as it did. Dick
