...in my partner's elk. It was completely gristled over so it was at least a year old, maybe more. It was lying along the rib of the scapula at an angle that would be impossible so it's moved somehow since it was shot. I should mention, too, that this head is illegal in Idaho as the blades are too thin. Dick

I found one a long time ago but it was a lot more recent than that one. look how its deteriorating away. that has been in there awhile , pretty wild stuff.

After talking to guys on another board, I now know that this head is a Savora, and a darned poor head. The tip is aluminum and even when new was too soft & dull to penetrate an elk's scapula. Idaho has a minimum thickness for blades and this one doesn't make it. You can see how pieces have broken off. The elk wasn't all that old. It was in there at least a year, but maybe 2 or 3.
