Stopped by walmart and picked up one of their Everstarts tonight.
I doubt it will last 5yrs like my Interstate battery did but I guess I'll see.

Are you sure it wasn't made by Interstate? Walmart sure doesn't make their own. Interstates and Exides can be found with dozens of different names on them.

It's an Exide battery. Not familiar with them yet.

I haven't owned an Exide (at least not that I know of) but I've never heard anything bad about them. I wonder who makes Diehards. Sears doesn't make batteries either.

There's some good info in there. When it's below 0, you can run down a battery real fast. Before I built a garage, I used a block heater in my pickup. I've never used one, but I've seen an electric blanket that wraps around the battery. If you keep it warm, it'll retain it's full cranking capacity.
