Kind of funny, today was the first time I ever went to an auto auction even though I sold cars for 8yrs down in Texas.
Pretty interesting event, this one was a double line affair with two auctioneers going at the same time. I guess the idea is to create excitement by having much going on at one time as well as some attractive ladies enthusiasticly helping out. This place has a dealer only auction during the week and a public auction on Saturdays.

I would have taken pics but I was learning quick and not messing around. All I can say if you ever go to one is look em over close before the sale. I saw some real bombs sold and some nice units as well.
Anyway I secured my travel/hunting permission for some time to come with this minivan for the wife just in time for Mother's Day.
'97 chevy venture LS
101k miles but only $2500 + 375 house fee.
I checked it out good for not being in a shop and it looked well taken care of, started, ran, and braked clean. Tires good but not new. The engine hadn't been steam cleaned and it looked in very good state. Of the three vans I considered, this one was the best deal. It came up well into the sale and I think some of the van buyers got removed by buying the ones I passed on waiting to see what this one would do. Turned out I was only bidding against one guy, a dealer, and I think when he saw me bid, he let it go after his first offer. I appreciated that although the seller waffled a good bit before deciding to let it go.
Anyway, I get one of my trucks back now and Mama has wheels with our two most important qualities, paid for and running.
btw, I saw some excellent opportunities for good hustles but I let em go today. The dealers scarfed em up readily.
