First it was my pickup tranny going out. Next, I had to spend a couple C's on my boat motor. Now the breakdown of the day is my 300cc Kaw atv. I drove it to work this morning so I could use it to spray a field. I hooked up the sprayer and started it...or tried to anyway. When I hit the starter button, I heard a pop and nothing else. I can hear the starter solenoid click but it doesn't turn. We tried to push start it but it wouldn't comply. I kind of suspect that the starter broke and has jambed the flywheel. Hopefully, it's just the starter but I won't have time to even look at it for a week or so. My days are full up for a while.

see if this makes you feel better. ;D The guys I had in here helping me after Isabell pirated some jobs, meaning they did them but never put them on the books. Out of the blue about 2 weeks ago I get a letter from a prominent lawyer demanding a refund of over $10,000 for a bad metal job. I get hung up between trying to fight it in court vs keeping a good name. Long and short, to settle it I'm preparing to completely R&R the roof at my expense even though I never made a dime from it and didn't know of it's existance. To make it even sweeter, I've already shucked out around $17,000 fixing other pirated crap jobs with my name on em. Of course when the pirates found out I was running into trouble, they stopped answering my calls. Once I get this one straightened out, I'm meeting with the Attorney General's office.

Well, I finally got a chance to work on the ATV and I located the problem without dismantling too many wrong things. The starter drive chain had broken. The chain goes from the starter gear to a sprocket on the crankshaft. The master link had broken and the chain wedged between the sprocket and crankcase housing. It was a bugger to get it out of there but the fix should be fairly simple. All I need is a chain and a gasket. Once in a while I luck out.
