They sure dont make them like they used to. my first mower on this property was a elcheapo montgomery ward mower , it lasted 13 years and never let me down much during that time. it also mulched the lawn very good no matter what heighth the grass was. it had a 2 blade (actually 4 blades) system with a top blade above each lower blade to thatch the mulched grass. mowers nowadays have a much shallower deck and just a single (actually 2 on a 42 inch cut ) blade system that dont mulch worth a crap unless your only cutting 2 inches of new growth. since my 1st one i have been through 2 a mtd and now cutting with a sears and neither cut worth a crap. my dad owns a john deere with the same designed mowing deck and it sucks too. he paid a small fortune for his. i'm wondering if any brands still exist with the double blade design? i'd give both of the new ones just to have the old montgomery ward back. i still have it out back i should try and restore it lol like i need another project just venting after having to cut the grass without the mulcher cause my sissy sears mower wouldnt mulch it

tall grass doesn't mulch well regardless of the mower. I saw the deal when I was there and thought you might forever have mower problems due to the size of your yard and the expense of hi quality mowers. My suggestion; buy a really good mower and contract 4 or 5 yards per month to pay for it. I'm no expert on mowers but if I were you I'd consider a Kubota commercial mower and trailer, and buy new. www.kubota.com/f/products/ZG20.cfmhi dollar but what kind of tools do you use at work? ;D
