I have a couple of questions for you guys. do you ever get cought up on projects? Does it ever end? Does the (so called) small project ever go as easy as it is sopposed to go? I (the wife) thought that the drain in the tub was ugly and old so SHE wanted a new on. well a month ago we went to home deopt and bought a new on. well as you guessed it i started to take the old one out, note I said started. The old one started comeing out in pieces Again I said started. lol. I got the flange out but couldnt get the threaded part out. I hammered, beat , and even said a few choice words. So now after takeing the plywood out from the closet wall I have the drain out and waiting to go back to home depot again to get a new drain. lol I just dont think i better wait a month again to fix this one. The conclusion is that it is never done and in the year that I've owned a house I'm starting to love my ex landlord. lol GOD bless him Sorry i love not paying rent at least I know where my money goes now and it will pay me back if i ever sell.

Sounds like an old 1918 vintage house we used to have. When we bought it, the bathroom was carpeted (STUPID). After a few years, my wife announced that the carpet was wet around the toilet. Whooo boy. I pulled up the carpet and found the toilet sunk about 1/4" into the floor from rot. Whooo boy oh boy. Before it was done, I'd cut out a 16" square of flooring, scabbed in new wood, pulled out our clawfoot bathtub and sink, and put down a whole new underlayment. then there was the problem of attaching a new floor flange to the old lead pipe that was partially torn down one side. I should mention that the new VINYL floor looked pretty good when I was finished.
During the process, my wife took the kids and went to visit her parents, which was good because we had no bathroom. I used a porta-potty and took my showers at night in the back yard with a hose.
And to answer the original question, no, it does not ever end.
