I tried Idaho and got 8 results. 2 were city parks and 3 were Walmart stores. Whoopee.

Whatcha expect for free? ;D I've parked in some walmart lots for some zzz's. Worst thing about walmart is if you wake up and gotta go, it's a long walk to the latrine. I've been thinking about adding some of the free campgrounds I've found to their list.

With all the $$ you saved on your camper, you can afford to go inside Walmart and buy several artificial Christmas trees. Set them up around the camper and call it the backwoods. ;D

Most of the campable areas here are either BLM or Nat Forest. On either, you just camp where you feel like it. If you want privy privilages, though, a campground only costs a couple bucks a night.

Most national and state forest have primitive campgrounds for free. I say primitive as in no elect or water. I've seen some with pit johns though.
We call it camping but actually it's living like a gypsy. ;D
