Well yesterday i was riding home from Dad's house when out of the corner of my eye I see an Apache , A Ramada for sale. after i laid on the brakes i went and looked at it, nobody was home so i left my number. it is a 1975 ramada , the largest, it has the 3 way fridge and a furnace , when i saw it i couldnt resist. he called last night and i went and picked it up today . a little tlc and i think i can get 1500 out of it. i set it up tonight and it has the cleanest alluminum i have ever seen both inside and out. it had to have been garage kept. the guy got it when someone couldnt pay to get his motor fixed so they bartered. someone was there looking at it when i arrived to buy it , too bad it was spoken for. now i have to change all of the living hinge that makes it fold, very doable. it needs all new windows put in but i doubt i do that , they are just yellowed . 2 are broken so they gotta get fixed. have to check all the appliances tomorrow. going to get the title changed tomorrow, should be fun going to the dmv always is lol . the profit goes towards the boat fund .

I don't know if I oughtta be mad or not. ;D Just kidding. congrats on another great find. I'll look at it when I go back up there. We may have to talk. You don't have to send the turnbuckles. I think I can get what I need right here for that. I'm going to be needing some living hinge material though. PM me the contact for that if you will. I haven't spent much time on the Apache site at all.

Alan , put yours on ebay and set a reserve for it, . we can work a deal , off to the dmv.

last couple of days have been busy. looked over the appliances, the stove works perfect, the gas refridgerator worked after cleaning out the gasline. the furnace works but i cant get the blower working yet, it has a fuse that i hope it is just havent pulled it out yet. went over every gas connection with soap and water , had one leak up front , it looked like someone changed the line to the regulator recently. changed out all the windows and put new screen on.

Rick, if you haven't thrown them away and aren't going to use them, I'd like those old cushions. I can use them roofing.

notice the bucket reflecting onto the side of her she is shiny new looking on the outside. now for the dirty part soap and bleach the inside clean .. bleach kills everything lol. i was kind of hinting for the wife to do it but she said i gotta give it a good "man cleaning" (ie half-assed) first

i used the plexiglass variety, available at home depot maybe 150 for all of them. a little tricky but once you do one set they are all the same after that lol. i did all the windows and screen in about 6 or 7 hours but i have done this before it was easier than doing it for the first time. that took 2 days

Does the whole window frame have to come out and then you screw them back in or do you just take the slide part out that holds the window and cut you a new piece?

you have to remove the old panes with the stiffener trim on them, gotta look real hard at the way the trim is and just cut new panels and replace, they bend into place and then you add the front and rear window stiffeners which is just an aluminum track that slides over the edge keeping it straight. the bedends you have to remove a few rivets and move the center bracket out of the way. i've found a battery saw with a plywood blade works nicely to cut the plexi. just gotta cut it nice and straight.
