I hate to cut Plexiglass.I'am always ending up with a crack or it breaks on me.

They make a plexiglass cutter. I think I still have mine from the days I worked at a window factory here in WV. I was the glass cutter at that job. We built thermapane windows and occasionally I had plexiglass to cut for stormdoors also. The plexiglass cutter is a handheld unit that you pull towards you. It isn't a powered cutter. It is a diamond shaped point on a handle, the problem with it was that you had to score the plexiglass several times to get a good deep grove and then all you did was snap it. But, you better have a good table to lay it on and it worked better if you had a 1x4 or 2x4 to lay on top so the plexiglass wouldn't flex upward when your trying to snap the piece off. But, Rick your idea is quicker and faster. I just thought I would share some of my glass cutting experience.

i use a piece of plywood under mine , adjust the blade so it just cuts through the plexiglass and leaves a small kerf in the plywood, without proper support cutting plexi can be very costly when it cracks.
