My dad is handicapped now due to arthritus in his shoulders and elbows. He has a medical card allowing him to hunt with a crossbow now. He borrowed one early this year but it was a manual cocking and it hurt him. He shot a beautiful 11 pointer with it and now he`s hooked. He asked me to ask you what kind should he buy. He need a crank with very little power needed, and quiet! Money is not the problem..600-1000 budget. For that we need the bow,a scope, and some bolts/heads. He wears glasses for things up close only. He is 56 years old and hunts about 25 feet up in a perm. steel stand. He`ll only be using it for deer, and foxes and coyotes. HELP PLEASE Used equipment is not out of the question..any for sale? We are honest people and expect to deal with same.

i've heard good things about 10 points , i have a Barnett and i can say their service is tops. i don't like their scope mount system though it moves about. I don't even shoot mine anymore , i only used it once to hunt with , but wouldnt sell it just because i never sell anything hunting related once its bought lol.

The people I know that hunt 'full time' with a crossbow use the 10-point. I've got an old Horton (didn't even get pulled out this year) and I can't really recommend it. It shoots OK, but is very loud and slower than my vertical bow, and nowadays it's not too accurate... something like 4" at 20 yds.

I've heard some good things about the 10-pt. with the Accu-Draw attachment. Appears to be a bit more compact than some of the Excalibur models.
