I got 17 on the sledding hill today with the weighted vest. It was bruttal as I'm not fully recovered from the virus. I'm going to take it right to 20 next week and then focus on speed.
Later on today I'm going to start up the chinups, pushups and situps. Just with bodyweight for a week or 2 and then I'll add the vest. I want to pack on a little upper body mass.
eshore, congratulations on your progression, you're moving up fast!!!

yeah right. i was stuck on 410 for almost 2 months. honestly i thought id be around 450 by now. ill move up to around 475 fairly easy then itll be a bitch to 500. i wish i had your lungs and stamina. i dont get my lungs. even when i was 15-16, weighed 145lbs, had a rippin 6pack, and played full court ball for 5-8 hrs at a time, i had a hard time running just a mile without stopping. sucks

Well I'm having a litlle bit of a schit time of it right now. I put on a few lbs with the quiting smoking and I just can't get myself to start up with the upper body resistance training. I feel like a puss right now. Maybe this afternoon I can start.

Well I knew there was a reason I was avoiding the upper body resistance training. The reason is because Buckfever is a candy ass pansy. Just with body weight:
Chin ups: 6,5,4,3,3,3 Pushups: 20,20,20,10,10,7 Full situps: 20, 20,10,7,5,5
I wonder if anyone has claimed that handle: Candyasspansy formerly known as Buckfever.

I'll tell you one thing. It is amazing how those 3 little exercises, can make your entire upper body sore. Off to the hill now, I have to get this thing going again.

eshore, how do you control your weight when lifting? I'm blowing up and I've just started with the resistance training. I just put on 7 lbs this past week. I jumped from 198 to 205 in 6 days and I had cut back on my intake and added walking. It's been a few years since I've done any type of serious resistance training, so maybe it's just the initial response of the muscles filling out. One thing for sure, I need more sleep. These workouts got me dragging, especially in the morning.

Try 206.5 this morning. 8.5 lbs in 7 days. I've always reacted aggressively to resistance training. I think it's particularly severe this time because I haven't really hit it hard for a few years. I'm just going to add a 3 mile walk daily and get real strict with the diet. I want the mass back, I miss the strength. I'll whittle away at it and slowly get back under 200. It's just a lot harder being older as you can't rush the recovery time.

When I got to the sledding hill today, I called my wife and I told her, I'm going to get twenty on that hill today or die trying. She said: "With the vest?" I said yeah. She said: "You're nuts" So I said "well yeah that's the thing so if I die, I want you to tell the kids that I love them and that daddy said they should always be good kids."
I got 20.

"Who cares about weight if its muscle."
I think that, up to a point, but I still plan on sparring with the boys and I can't give up any speed. So I'll take the muscle but it has to be very lean muscle.
I do like how I look with the thickness better, I feel better and I sure do hit that bag harder. I'll need to lean up a bit before summer, but I'm keeping it close and there's still plenty of time to build some more before then.
I'm sure am impressed with your bench though. Basically you're benching what I'd be squating, if I were lifting now. That's crazy!!!
