i havent had a chance to do any more with my first arrowhead but my next step is to thin out the thickness of it without breaking it. what is the best tool and method to thin this thing some? fact is what are all the tools i need to do a proper job? as a carpenter i know how important the right tools are

"thin out the thickness of it without breaking it" AHHH- Therein lies the secret to knapping. To thin a piece, you're going to lose width. That's just how it works. It took me months to learn how to use percussion tools well enough that I could continue their use through the late stages of point making. Pressure flaking CAN thin but proper and strategic use of percussion stirkes is where the real thinning happens. I always approach a piece with this attitude - "Thin first, Shape later" If it's not thin enough, it doesn't matter what shape it is.
