Less than a week until the opener and I've decided to go to pins and a release on my recurve. While I have fun shooting instinctive and am tolerable accurate, for kicks I taped a pin on the bow yesterday and the difference is just too great to ignore. I had already decided to use my release as the old hand injuries are too punishing to keep shooting fingers but when I put a pin on the bow I came to near compound accuracy instantly. IMO it would be rather stupid to deer hunt without all the accuracy I can gather so I break ranks with the trad elite and prepare to hunt.

Funny I have been thinking how much easier it would be to shoot my recurve with a release lol. i figured it to be taboo if i had mentioned it though . I shot for years with a pin at targets when i started shooting a recurve years ago. I thought of putting a sight on mine not just tape and a pin . now that you have broken the mold , i may have to try the release and a pin just to see . I would feel like i still accomplished something with my recurve even with some modern add ons . it certainly would be better than being half arsed and wounding a deer with it. that in my eyes is worse than using modern gadgets on a recurve .
