a week and a half and 2 pics , the camera was still working when i picked it up . must not have been much traffic . 1 turned out real nice, the other the deer must have been moving quicker or came in from another angle.as good pictures as i have ever seen though from a trailcam .

Nice looking pictures!! Of course no matter what camera you have you always get the deer just stepping out of the camera...LOL
Looks like your project is working okay!

Good pics but lookin at that trail, you'd sure think more than 2 deer walked in it that amount of time.

i dont know about that . there are quite a few trails back there and they may be using one of the others more. i thought there would be more too but i dont think it missed any. i walked in front of it when i picked it up and it went off ok then. most of the deer out back like it across the power lines rather than this side of them. no houses or foot traffic over that way . i'll put it back out in another spot and see what happens.

Interesting lesson in this thread, at least for me. One that I should keep in mind when traveling. Well worn trails in most areas around here are likely active or they'd be grown up or gone. The land up there has a high sand content and holds the trails (and tracks) for a long time. Just finding a well worn trail isn't as hot as it would be here. I guess where well worn trails are, it pays to locate active sign or use along one before just setting up and calling it a good spot. can't wait to see more pics.

this particular trail has been there for as long as i have lived here , about 15 years or so. at times it can be real active , other times its not. its dug in from years of being used , why it looks better than it really is. as small as the woods are back there , it has a dozen or so trails running through it. it was much more active before they cut the land beside mine. its growing back enough now that they will start making their way back into it now. problem is its gonna take a few years to get huntable , at least until it matures some more. i plan on doing some natural seeding to ensure some oaks at least on the edge of my property. . i've been keeping an eye out for some sawtooths but havent seen any, got to be some around though . my three are doing real good . i'll have to get some more pics of them. i also gotta get my cameras back out .
