It's so interesting that the days will be getting shorter and the sun lower in the sky, but the weather will be getting hotter and hotter until late september. There's at least a couple of month's lag between max solar heating (June 21) and max temp.

There's at least a couple of month's lag between max solar heating (June 21) and max temp. I can tell you don't work outside. ;D Normally the wind blows thru the 2nd week of July, giving some relief. Then the wind dies and it gets oppressive for about a month. The 3rd week of August nearly always shows improvement and while it's plenty hot, the really hot part of the day has shortened considerably making mornings and evenings more worker friendly. September is hurricane month and associated cloud cover and rain cools things off a good bit. Heat index was over 105 here Wed and Thur and it was a blast roofing in it. My motto this time of year; when it gets too hot for everyone else, it's gettin just right for me. ;D ps, a little sidenote; Two guys in the local neighborhood died this week of strokes. Both of them were in their mid fortys. A lot of guys got into the roofing business after the hurricane and many have found out it's not work everyone can do.

Well, guilty as charged. ;D I spend most of my time inside in a temperature controlled environment, and given how much I like cold temps, it's probably a good thing.

The summer temps here are in a lull. Averaging in the mid 70's so far. It just doesn't want to get hot.........Oh it will around the end of July and August. Last couple years it's been staying hot right through September. 69?, 84?, I'm jealous. Season doesn't open up here for 92 days.
