Last week while I was in Dallas on business my veteran freezer died. The freezer was in our basement and the Frau did not notice until she scented the aroma. For the first time in about 20 years I am without venison, sans venison, kein Rehfleisch, inget, nada. The horror!

Nothing like the fresh stench of rotting meat to catch your attention Here's a good one . A few years back after a trip to Wv , where i brought back home a few deer, our car had a strange aroma kept appearing in the t-bird. It would only appear every now and again and through my searches I couldn't find the culprit. Finally spring started bringing warmer temps and the smell grew stronger . After a thorough ripping apart of the entire car I finally found what it was. seems a package of backstrap had fallen out of the boxes and found its way under the mat in the trunk of the car . as the weather would stay cold it was ok , but every warm day it would perk up so to speak lol. I'm glad I found it when I did as it was ripening nicely ;D

I would invest in a good freezer alarm but with my family the freezer is a busy place daily. I get a fresh jug of ice for my truck cooler every morning anyway.
