First off, I would like to get some advice on food plots. I'll say first that I have Honda Rubicon 500 and that is the ONLY equipment I have. I'm not against buying a small/cheap disc or other gear, but I don' have money to buy the plotmaster, yet!
Now a little about the area: Central KY good soil will do one or two plots in a field, un-shaded (ground has not been disced or had anything done in more than a few years. It currently needs to have hay cut, but that probably won't happen. will do one or two in heavily shaded areas
Any suggestions? I have used some round-up and a rake to do prep before planting "Secret Spot" 2 years ago. I worked out okay, but was less than stellar. So how about some suggestion on preparation as well as specific plants?
ETA...I'd love to see some pics of your plot(s)

I got lucky some years ago and found a homemade disc for sale I could pull behind my 4wheeler. It isn't much more than a pile of junk but by putting logs on it for weight I was able to break up the ground and had some fantastic food plots for several years. I think getting a disc would open new doors for you. I've noticed small disc for sale in Northern Tool and if I couldn't find or fabricate a better one, I'd go for it. little pricey but what isn't these days? www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&productId=200311181&R=200311181Bad news for me is my 4 wheeler is down and needs some major repair. I need to get it fixed.
