do you know how many guns you have? I got em piled up in just about every vacant corner plus my gun safe is stuffed full. I might could guess to within five if I thought and counted but I wouldn't bet on it.

haha, your a good ole boy NC, remind me not to brake in your house, LOL i dont really own any wall hangers, all my long guns are functunal rifles, shotguns and muzzleloaders, but i do have a few that i no longer shoot, so i guess what the point in keeping them, sentimentle value i guess, one that i'm giving serious consideration to getting rid of is a Hatfield 50 cal loader, in curly maple, my most prized posetion, killed many a deer with that kentucky long rifle, just not anymore, with the advent of these new inlines, humm, should sell it, na,

;D
I guess I'm a packrat at heart. If any one of my guns is worth $500 it would surprize me, yet I keep holdin on to em for whatever reason.
Times have changed since I was a boy. Back then a .22 was a must have item and I hunted with .22s a lot. Nowdays if I take a .22 out chances are highly likely it's for some cheap target practice or just plinking around. I haven't taken one actually hunting in quite a while. I guess the near disappearance of the 'Big Woods', predominance of posted land, modern forestry practices, as well as the explosion in whitetail deer hunting have just about done in the small game hunters that once prevailed in the field.
Much the same with shotguns, although my scatterguns do see at least some use each year actually shooting game. It's not the same though. Now deer, or the chance of a deer, seem to taint small game adventure as in most areas, seeing a deer is more likely than seeing quail or rabbits.
So deer rifles seem to prevail these days. My deer rifles aren't really specialized pieces like some have, more just the average fare of functional guns that didn't cost much but are very useful. I think once I hit the point in life that I could afford a nice or customized rifle I kind of lost interest in rifles as my real fancy turned to bowhunting, and we all know you can throw a small fortune into archery.
I think one reason I haven't sold off some of the excess guns is the constant threat the antis pose. Someone always wants to take the guns away and that causes me to dig in and resist, holding what I have. There are no records of my guns, no list some government agency could use to come and collect.
Buying new guns is difficult to do without records being made and kept someplace. I don't care for that and will go to lengths to avoid it. I guess that's one reason all my guns are old. I'd rather buy a used gun from someone for straight cash than go thru the legislated paperwork of buying a new one.
Antisocial, ain't I? ;D

well I did sell both my AR 15s years ago. One of them would burp. At the time I needed the money and I never used them. Actually they were a worry because in San Antonio I was always worried about burglars. Wish I had em both back now. ;D

If you count what my son has, I guess we have about 21 guns. Were ready for just about anything. When my son showed interest in hunting I started buying him his own guns. I didn't want him to wait until he was working and married before he got what he wanted. I did that and it has taken me almost 20 years to get what I wanted. Of course he wanted guns like dad. So we both have Remington 742 BDL's, Remington 760 BDL's and Remington 840 Express's. I also have a Remington 1100, Model 700 in 30-06, 303 British, Traditions 50 caliber sidelock muzzleloader and a couple 22 rifles. Jerod has an 8x57 (8mm) German Mauser, Traditions 50 caliber sidelock muzzleloader and a Remington 552 Speedmaster and a Remington 512 bolt. We could almost have our own sporting goods.

Well I know I have none at home. At my dads in his case there is a Stevens 410 S/S, a Beretta Al2 12 guage semi auto and an Ansley H Fox 12guage side by side. My brother in law has my 870 12 guage pump with a rifled barrel. Somewhere at my dads there's a 22 lever action and a over under 22/410. Don't remember who made that over under 22/410, it had a plastic stock, but the choke on that 410 was so tight and with a #4 I could get some ridiculous range with that. Really that was my favorite gun till I got the Stevens 410 Side by Side. Was a 3" magnum full choke tight pattern, excellent range. That's all I used in the years prior to giving up gun hunting.
