I passed a very nice 100" eight-pointer last night. Prospective shot was through a 3-foot hole in the branches at about 20 yds. A bit iffy, but doable. I was a bit conflicted about if he was big enough to shoot or not, and then the opportunity evaporated and he wandered off, smelled me, blew, and flew. Oh well, hopefully the venison Gods will look kindly on me for letting him walk, and send me a bigger one tonight!

Buckfever - I've taken two does and a button buck with a bow so far. We've taken 19 deer (mostly does) out of the neighborhood we're managing.

Twanger, what I mean is, what is the buck limit per season over there?

The buck in your avatar pic was likely about 100" 8pt the year before you took him in. These small 8pts are exactly what we should pass as they're just a year away from being nice bucks. Good job.

Thanks Bowman. Yeah, if he lives until next year he will be a monster. Buckfever - we can take two bucks if we take two does. In this prime location, we have an agreement in the group that it's one buck per season.
