Wow! What a buck. Tell her congrats from me. Hell no! Her head's swelled enough. She has 3 or 4 on the wall that are WAY bigger. (And sad part is ,she most always shoots the first thing she sees.Just happens to see the right ones) Gotten to the point my buddies call and ask me what SHE killed. Thursday I was covered up with turkeys. Friday 11 does,no bucks. And today,a lonely steer decided to keep me company all evening.

Real Nice Buck Tell her woohoo from me My wife and I shot last spring getting ready for turkey season. as much as I hate to admit , she outshot me... then proceeded to let me know about it too . Somehow when I'm around friends and talking hunting , the story always arises too Old Injun told me along time ago " When the wind blows strong, The Big Buck will walk " some of the biggest bucks i have seen were during a fairly brisk wind or not so pleasant weather .

And sometimes she lets ME hunt her stand! ;D Got a bunch of skulls etc laying around and a few other mounts, but these are right behind the computer. Now you see why she has forced me to take up taxidermy.

Nice. yup. I mounted quite a few deer heads years ago and have been seriously thinking of getting back into it. Back when I did them tanneries were abundant and cheap. Not so anymore. Do you tan the hides yourself or send them out?

I've been using the Dan Chase dry preservative. I know lots of folks don't like these types, but it's cheap and so am I! I had some problems with drumming from the start, but started using more epoxy and TONS of pins in the trouble spots, and seems to work okay. I've got a backlog in the freezer that I really need to get to sometime soon.Ben doing skull mounts lately, but we've got a few oddballs to do shoulder mounts with-piebald,etc
Too many hobbies and interests/too little time. ;D
I actually plan on dying/waxing my traps this week and running a short line again.Been 20 years since the last one, other than troublesome critters here at home
