Today I donned my gear that I will be hunting with in November and made my windage adjustments to both bows. With the glove and the hood both bows were shooting to the left 3/4" at 12 yards elevated, as expected. Saturday I'll make a final check out at 30 yards to be sure.
Here with us approaching the rut and the sweet spot of the season I just want to make this reminder as every year I'll hear of guys missing a shot bad and invariably I'll have them go and check their equipment and they'll discover that they're hitting 6" off with their gear or their broadheads etc....
So just a reminder, we sacrifce a lot for a few opportunties each season and this is a simple oversight that I see occur over and over and is completely avoidable.
So put your gear on and sight in with the exact gear you'll be hunting with. And I mean everything. Gloves, jacket, hood, arrows, broadheads, quiver on the bow, everything. And if you hunt from a stand, the practise must be from an elevated position.
And once your sighted in, practise a little till you're comfortable. When I first put my gear on I don't shoot as good. But within 2 sessions, I am absolutely as deadly with my gear on as without. And you will be too, plus you'll have a higher level of confidence, knowing that you left no stone unturned!!!
