It is not looking good for low daytime temps for next week. The daytime temps in the high 50's low 60's is not good.I'am afraid this will put a halt to the Rutting activity in my area.If you follow Charles Alsheimer you know that temps over 45 degrees will have the deer movement down to a minimum. Here is a quote from him off his website: Quote: Rut Suppressors The project has revealed several factors that can greatly effect deer activity during daylight hours. As reported last year, the temperature readings and Trail Timer data have shown us that when the daytime temperature rises above 45 degrees Fahrenheit, deer activity comes to a screeching halt. With their heavy fur coat and inability to ventilate as humans do, deer simply cannot function in warm weather.

the moon, the sun, too warm temps, to cold temps, day light savings times, high tides, low tides, barometric pressure, hunting pressure, gravitational pull, rain, sleet, wind, snow, hail, etc... you cant control any of them, just get out and hunt!

I hear ya,but I can control when I take off to hunt and I'am wondering if it will do me any good to push my week of vactaion off to the following week 11/13 - 11/17.I really don't think it will help because I believe the Rut will go on as scheduled just not in the heat of the day.Three days before and three days after the Rutting moon is still the same time no matter how hot it is so I guess I will have to stick to the plan and see what happens.

yeah, its a craps shoot. the only thing you can do, is increase your odds by being in the woods whenever you can for the next 2 weeks.
good luck!

Here in Northern IL we start seeing the big bucks searching on the 9th. I would think in KY a day or 2 later. Here in IL if I had to pick 7 days it would be the 9th through the 15th.

The rut and the search that follows are both great times to be out. I stil believe the bigger ones seem to show up more towards the search phase after they have bred the does in their area and just haven't had their fill . I wouldn't be going from the 7th to the 21st if I hadn't thought things were gonna happen then . Aro is right though anytime you can hunt is good and the next 30 days are the best time of the year for a deer hunter wooohoooo !!!!!

Jeff, I really think you should push your vacation back a week. Three days sometime between the 10th - 24th will be the absolute best time, usually around the 15th. I read Alsheimer but I don't buy into what he sells. He sells this stuff and it's seldom worth the bandwidth to hold it. Throwing darts at a calendar would be just as accurate. The rut timing isn't controlled by the moon. Alsheimer always throws the moon up because few can argue baseless information and trying to make sense of misinformation really is lunacy. Nope, Alsheimer is famous but imho I know a dumptruck load more than he does about the rut and timing it. How many years would his stuff have sold if he made the same predictions each and every year? Fact is, deer of a certain location tend to rut the same time every year. I'm tryin to head out this weekend BUT I have a good bit to do before the 12th, when I think the big boys will begin to play during daylight. You coming to see us? We'll probably ride down to Adams county and look around before we're done this year but Walt only has this coming week if he decides to go, Rick's good until the 21st, and I have no set time limit. ;D

Well nc from everything I have been seeing and reading on other forums the bigger more mature deer have been showing themselves in daytime hours in just the last few days.I'am starting to believe we are a little ahead of time right now.I may even take off tomorrow(Friday). It sounds like it will be a good day as far as the temps are concerned.Low 20's and a high of 45.I like it!
I will definately try to catch up to you all somewhere.Do you know what day yo will be in Adams Co?

Good luck friday. I'm still betting the oldest deer will be out 15th - 17th. Have no clue when we may go to Adams Co. I need to get your cell # in my dayplanner so I can call when we decide to make a run. Adams county is a good little ride from where we camp. Mine is 252 333 7990. Look forward to seeing you again.

the peak trolling activity can vary from farm to farm, much less county to county, or state to state. it is usually triggered by the first doe going into esterus. but i have noticed a consistant pattern on most of my farms here in worcester county, its from nov 3 - nov 10.
good luck i'm heading in!
