Dead eye put it on another buck this morning. I had the pleasure of watching him down this one. We had just got out of the truck and started walking down the field when the buck, a 6 pt, popped out about 100yds away. He missed the first shot and the deer started running but the 2nd shot was on the mark, almost taking the deer down. He ran low about 20 more yards before piling up. Killing running deer at a hundred yards freehand, he's coming right along.

Yup, I'm right proud of him. He's in a very good place near here right now. I dropped him off and came back home to shoot my bow some.

Congrats again goes out to Israel. 100 yards, running and free hand...that is some fine shooting! I really enjoy seeing youngsters get as much enjoyment out of the outdoors as I do.

I should recruit Israel to help me kill some does. I am doing some management work on a 5400 acre open range ranch that needs 100 does killed. This ranch has 9 hunters that only have 27 doe tags. So I am bringing in grandkids, daughter in laws and a few others to kill all that they can.
