Well this morning as I was walking out I noticed that the ATV's are in full swing. I am not seeing one fresh track , I guess the birds have moved out of the area. Time to get back to the river.

ATV's can be the scurgg of the spring gobbler woods Dave, especially when birds are allready spooky, but the good thing is they are used to them often, the same as farmer's working up ground on tractors, seems like at least once a year i have a tractor or quad spoil a hunt, on a gobbler thats close to being killed, last year i had a first with an AWD subaru come driving down a field edge, as a gobbler was fanned out at 80 yards, and comming in slow but sure, funniest thing was that this car wizzed past me at about 10 yards, as i had my back up against an apple tree, in a hedge row, very bad setup, but i had no choice, had to stop and drop because he was comming strong, after looseing track of his hen late morning, boy was i pissed, and i wont forget that hunt for some time, because after that gobbler spooked, i sat there darn near another hour, as i had to fight the erdge to get up and move down into the harwoods, little did i know he was still right there the hole time, he never gobbled again, and i never called again, had i moved two feet, it would have been over, just waited it out, and it paid off, i killed that longbeard at 48 paces, as the noon whistle had just blown, LOL

JP, our woods are not big tracks like in other parts, The field dividers are tacks maybe 100 yards wide but mostly 30 to 50 yards and these ATV's have trails up the middle of these tracks to keep off the fields. Right now there are 2 to 4 ATV's out there every weekend and durring the week. LOL
