do turkeys like swampy areas like fishing bay in dorchester county? i have use of a small 12fter to get to some of those remote locations. just wondering what you guys thought, worth a shot or waste of time. i believe thats the part of the shore were they originally started "restocking" them to the shore.

I've never been there so its hard for me to say. if theres any woods my guess is theres birds. dorchester county has its share of birds killed with 332 taken last year.3rd highest county in the state last year. i would go scout some first, maybe at sunup or late afternoon. i cant remember ever seeing a turkey in the salt grass ever before, but they will be in any woods or food crops that adjoin woods if they are around anywhere.

There's a few there, but with what,1,000 acres wooded out of 20,000 total, there's other places I'd look first. Are a few wooded islands out in the marsh, but mostly all pine.Did see one hell of a bird crossing INTO the wooded tract there by the Bestpitch boat ramp a few years back. Also, some newer wooded tracts over on the east side of Fishing bay, between Vienna and Elliots.
