great shot, that digital takes great pictures. i must of had 3000 of those things fly over my house this morning. i was tempted to break out my shotgun and try my luck. i need to get my license for them i suppose first . with the low ceiling this morning they were just above the treetops. i figured they were in range of the 12 gauge, not sure.

Great, they decoy fairly easy. Its like looking up at C-130 coming in for a landing. You have wait to they get really close they are so hard to kill and its hard to wait on them they are so big.

Do you swing through and try and center the head and neck in the pattern?

yes, they need to be shot in the head or neck for a quick kill. Their bodies can take alot of punishment.

Does Maryland have a season on swans. I know Virginia and North Carolina issue permits.

Does Maryland have a season on swans. I know Virginia and North Carolina issue permits. No such luck, either for native swan, or introduced (mute) swan. In Delaware you may shoot non-native (mute) swan, but not native swan.

Good photo. Now that my deer season is winding down,I'll get after the birds.Duckin' has been slow here, unless you want river ducks, but the goose shooting has been steady. Where abouts on the Bohemia? I used to live in Cecilton and trap the north side, east of the 213 bridge.

It was on a small tributary of the Bohemia right off rte. 213 just north of the bridge. It was a sweet spot! Tons of muskrat holes. Very serious care was needed while walking after downed birds.
