I spent at least 4 or 5 hours today trying all arrow and broadhead combinations. I decided on what performed best throughout the day(well almost, more later). I'm going with the nugent goldtips and the razors 125 grains. I'm very solid out to 40 yards in a serious way , so I feel ready to hunt. I had to downsize to a 100 grain fieldtip to get the 2 hitting right for field tip practice. I tried the 125 grain Titaniums, Razors, Muzzy's,and the 85 grain Titaniums and the Free broadhead "Sonic" I think it was called. Every broadhead did pretty well out of the xt But 2 stood out time and again. The Razors performed best of all except for 1. That Free broadhead outperformed them all and flew like a dart out to 40 every single time . I tested the hell out of that thing today and it not only flew straight but outpenetrated all heads by a considerable amount. I gotta take a look at their stuff and see what they all carry. the size of it had lots to do with it I'm sure. it was something i'll tell ya that.
broadheads can really tear a target up when you shoot that long with them though . I'm ready to go now

Yeah it is a good feeling when you come to figure what the bow likes.

Rick, If you ever get a chance to try some ACCs in a lighter spine, you should give those a try.

Rick, If you ever get a chance to try some ACCs in a lighter spine, you should give those a try. thats what i was thinking too. and why would he need to shoot a 29"arrow? i have the 3-60's in 27 or 27 1/2 you can have if they shoot good for you. i wrote them off as JUNK.....compared to my cx300's anyway. the next arrows i buy will be the cx maxima hunters.

the longer arrows were the result of my other bow . the nugents are 28" and aren't bad. i could probably go with 27 but it starts putting the broadhead behind my hand. regardless of my rest allowing me to go shorter, i will probably stick with 28's . I was never a fan of overdraws for this reason. the nugents and goldtips are a lighter spine arrow. the acc's did very well in my testing also, i could easily pick them up with any of the heads and kill a deer. it didnt like the pro hunters very well though for some reason. thats ok though because my backup bow simply loves them , so it all works out. i have 2 dozen arrows but need to get the accs cut an inch and i'll bet they shoot better than the nugents then , it was very close between the 2. I may have to rethink the razors though after the broadhead /plywood test yesterday. i'll post my results on another thread.
