Walt wanted a trophy red squirrel to mount and had the foresite to use a fieldpoint on this one. and a true trophy he is. ;D Where I was hunting I seldom saw reds but had a couple of greys in the area. One morning one of them ventured into range and settled about 25yds out. I had left the fieldpoint arrow in the truck but had one arrow with a slick trick on it so I loaded it up and took a shot. The arrow really looked good and went where I aimed but the squirrel was on the side of a tree over a foot away by the time it got there. I noticed the slick trick had a good bit of flight noise and pondered. About an hour later the same squirrel showed up out in front of me this time at 20yds and I caught him busy with a silent flying thunderhead. as I found him. when I rolled him over I realised what that was on my fletchings. I tried one more shot on a squirrel on another day and just flat missed that one. I gotta remember to keep a field point in my quiver. If I ever kill a red I'd sure like to mount it and the fieldpoint is the way to go to that end.

Squirrel brains... I think I read somewhere about people roasting them whole, and cracking the skull open and eating the brains. Not for me, thanks.
