may i suggest a late 80's sea ray. we had a 16ft. bow rider that felt like a solid piece of wood. very durable. actually kept you pretty dry for how low it sat in the water too. why dont you just splurge and get like a 24' albemarle... say like an early 2000 model with a yanmar diesel. ill teach ya everything i know mahi mahi for dinner every night sounds good to me ;D well even look cool pullin it with bomans loud truck this is a center console but it'll do adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/2/9/79031229.htm

I went to high school with the guys that started Albemarle Boats. >image removed< www.albemarleboats.com/index.htmlOne of them sold out and founded Carolina Classics. >image removed< www.carolinaclassicboat.com/Both are really finemade vessels but in knowing the people personally, I'd prefer a Carolina Classic with twin Volvos. Both of these operations are local and the guys are very wealthy now.

from everything ive seen, at least between the 24'albe and the 25'carolina they are basically the same boat. my friend has a 24' albe, a '94 i believe and this boat can handle some very rough seas for its size. definetly better than any grady ive riddin in. this is the same boat we had. i think they went up in value since we sold ours, thinking we got ripped after looking at these prices. ours had a 60hp mercury that was a piece of junk adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/6/0/78618760.htm

Todd, I think there is an underlying reason the Albemarle and the Classic are so much alike but I'll have to pm you with it. Obviously our taste in boats differ. You like bigger pleasure boats and I like skiffs I can get under low bridges and go up creeks with. If someone were to GIVE me a 32ft Classic, the first thing I'd do is buy insurance. The next thing would be sell it. ;D ps. I took those big pics off so the thread would go back to normal size.

no! i definetly like little skiffs too. my buddy paul has a 19' carolina skiff that we take out on the bay. beats us a little but still a nice boat. great for crabbin. a skiff just wont get me to the canyons and back.

Does anyone know anything about Nissan motors? I'm seeing more of them all the time but I know absolutely nothing about them.
For a small boat, Briggs & Stratton has come out with a 5hp that's supposed to be very good for the money. It's air cooled so it's a lot cheaper to build and maintain. Maybe they'll come out with something bigger one of these days.

Todd, I can see it now drifting in the bay with a $90,000 boat lol. watching a searay right now just at the extreme of my budget, not likely to get it but i will be ready to "snipe" em if possible Rock, From what i have read about them they are very reliable. I am still on the prowl for a decent boat at an outstanding price. so far everything on ebay i liked has gone over my budget, and everything local is either outpriced or gone before i get a chance at it. i should have looked for one before the weather changed , i believe a month ago the competition would have been lots smaller. i do have to admit i have learned a few things about boats though .
