Nope not saltwater trout, gotta wait a bit for those to come around. this is a freshwater stocked pond, they have stocked 500 already and plan to put in 350 more on march 26th. 2 trout limit i believe. summertime at night is good for speckled trout.

Sometimes we go take the boat down to Solomans on the Chesapeake Bay and catch speckled trout (weakfish) in the summer time with bottom rigs & shrimp, blood worms, or crab for bait. Some of those bad boys go 20" or more. Beautiful fish.
Now the wife is retiring we might have more time for stuff like this on the weekends.

what are you using for bait? on freshwater in lake fish i always had my most luck with velveeta cheese . i also had lots of luck with nightcrawlers "pumped up" full of air. has anyone ever used the air method?

Sorry Rick but I can see it now, You blowing in the butt hole of a nite crawler. Really how do you pump air in one? and how far can you go until he pops the other end?

thats just too much lol. we used to use a hyperdermic needle, now i believe they sell a small plastic bottle with a needle on the end of it. you know when you have enough air in them, when you put too much it will explode. the air keeps it floating off the bottom, its always been a real killer for trout.

I said the same thing the first time I heard of the pumped up worm method. But after trying it for the first time last year, it realy works. We were using worms and Powerbait (coated marshmallows) and I would have to say we caught 5 to 1 with the worms.
