Here are a couple shots that I took last fall. The first is a chukar that showed up in our yard. We have lots of chukars in the hills, but I suspect that this one escaped from someone's pen. You normally don't get this close to one. They're very spooky. The 2d is where I was elk hunting last fall. It's about 15 miles from Sun Valley, ID. There's some really nice country up there. Dick

There was only about 6" where I was, maybe a foot on top. This was a fast moving fall storm and much of it was gone a couple days later.

Those are some nice looking pictures. I hope someday to share some of my own pictures, once I get the hang of taking pictures with my Minolta 7000AF 35mm. I am just getting into photography, but of course I start out on the bottom end. No digital, well, I do have one of those 20.00 digitals, but it doesn't take the best pictures.

Actually, this isn't that far from a road. We hiked less than an hour to get to where I took this. It was a vertical hour, though, and the rocks were slicker than snot on a doorknob.

What I prefer: What I've got: These are uninsulated and very heavy duty. They're good down to maybe 20F. Below that or if the snow is more than a few inches, I wear Cabelas Guide boots. Dick
